Tracing the English branches of your family tree just got easier, as we added 122,911 new burial records and over 1,200 wills from London this week. These additions span 282 years.

Greater London Burial Index

For anyone with Londoner ancestors, the Greater London Burial Index is a valuable resource for tracing the final chapter of their lives. This week, we bolstered our collection with 122,911 new burial records from the index. These additions cover almost 300 years.

London, Archdeaconry Court Of London Wills Index

We also added 1,280 will records from London's Archdeaconry Court, which may help you to uncover what your deceased ancestors left behind (and who they left it to).

Explore the history of the railway through headlines

To celebrate 200 years of Britain's railways, we added three specialist railway titles to our archive this week.

We also made a hefty update to the Portsmouth Evening News, with a total of 362,596 new pages for you to explore.

New titles:

  • Railway Press, 1888-1898
  • Railway Servants’ Chariot and Companion, 1881, 1886
  • Scottish Railway Gazette, 1845-1846

Updated titles:

  • Portsmouth Evening News, 1986, 1988-1999
  • Railway Times, 1837-1900
  • Wigan Evening Post, 1986, 1990, 1992
